This 15-month sabbatical transformed Jeff and my sport climbing (and really our overall relationship with rock climbing) at a quantum level. We both progressed our max grade from 5.12a to 5.13a, exactly as we set out to do from the start! 🥳
Celebration and numbers aside, projecting turned out to be much more of a mental roller coaster than I expected. It asked for a real mindset shift, learning to find beauty and creativity in the process and fall in love with the sport all over again. I’m so grateful we had each other to support this wild ride.
Feeling a lot of love for all the beautiful people and places climbing has brought into our lives, and for the ways it keeps helping us grow and connect. After 13 years of climbing, it’s still more interesting and exciting than ever.
